[Game Announcement]: Grand Theft Auto V & Battlefield Hardli

Greetings all,

Rockstar recently announced the release of Grand Theft Auto V for PC, PS4, and XBox One, scheduled for Fall 2014. The announcement comes as a huge excitement for many - I quickly lost count of how many times people said they "couldn't wait for GTA V" during miscellaneous game sessions in GTA IV on PC. Along with the announcement of course, have come questions for the administration here at NTWT - we'll do our best to answer them, so let's get started.

Q: Will we support Grand Theft Auto V?

A: Yes, support already is in-place for the PlayStation Network renditions of the game (which covers both PS3 and PS4) and will continue to PC upon its release in the Fall.

Q: How will service department support function?

A: The initial release of GTA V proved to be disappointing to many multiplayer role-playing clans, guilds, and communities across globe, due to the mechanics of the game that make such activity almost next to impossible. It is not known at this point the changes that will be made to the game - if any - that may address those issues, so precisely how support will function is unknown at this time. The senior administrators and staff from Liberty City United Divisions Organization (2008 - 2013) will be at hard work shortly after the game's release this Fall to experiment with possible procedures and various settings that may allow departmental functionality for the game. If all possibilities are exhausted without avail, we will begin looking at existing game modification support tools and services that may allow for possible and reasonable alternatives. Please note that this process will take time as it is a timely process itself, not taking into consideration staff that may not obtain the game immediately upon release.

At the original time of this post, still no viable solution has been found for the PlayStation Network rendition of the game, but rest assured, a group of dedicated seniors will be working hard after the game's release.

Q: Will the Service Database support Grand Theft Auto V?

A: Much work was poured into the development of Service Database 14 and support for Grand Theft Auto V was a large portion of it. Unfortunately, its work halted shortly after the initial 2013 release of Grand Theft Auto V, due to the mechanics previously mentioned in this post. The entire section was temporarily deprecated prior to the Beta Release Edition's release, though the section still exists and is simply hidden. Because the Service Database primarily serves the in-game service departments, the final support for GTA V in the Service Database will depend on various factors (such as department support). Rest assured, we will keep everyone posted on the status of planned features and features that may be deprecated due to extreme circumstances.

Electronic Arts also recently revealed the planned October release for Battlefield Hardline, the next title in the Battlefield franchise. This title, unlike its predecessors, is police-themed, involving miscellaneous bank heists and shootouts. Like Battlefield 3 and 4, NTWT will also support this Battlefield title, though the prevalence of PC members who possess or play the game may lack for a period of time, depending on PC system requirements.

At this time, no questions have been posed for us to answer, but generally speaking, a few things that may prove useful to know:

  • Service Database support: will most likely function similar to the support for Battlefield 3 and planned support for Battlefield 4.[/*:m:qi1tpqnm]
  • Server support: will be dependent on population schema and server donations, as is the case with other supported Battlefield titles.[/*:m:qi1tpqnm]

We will continue to update this post with questions and answers, as they appear. As always, feel free to reply if you have questions, concerns, suggestions, or other comments.

most likely function similar to the support for Battlefield 3 and planned support for Battlefield 4.
