Hardcore for the win.

Today I decided it was time that I came out of retirement, and kick some fucking ass. Much ass was kicked, but that is not the point of this topic. I'm here to say, that hardcore is FUCKING AWESOME. For some non-discernible reason, it seems like noobs avoid hardcore mode. For the first time in almost a year, I witnessed something I thought was only a myth; Teamwork. Support players were throwing down ammo packs, assault players were reviving downed players, recon players were putting their TUGS in useful locations, and... Well thankfully there weren't any engineers because it was TDM. I think I might decide to make hardcore my primary choice for settings from here on out. It's almost like a dream come true, there's less grenade spam, people are more cautious and stick to their squads, teammates provide cover fire, and people actually have to be accurate with their shots. I was always apprehensive about my approach to hardcore because I was worried it would be filled with people who hide in corners with suppressors, and while I won't say they don't exist, it's not nearly as noob friendly as standard, which means less of the cheap jerk-wads. I was already having some pretty good matches, but this took the cake. Not only did it take the cake, it got another cake, stacked it on top of that cake, and it showered that cake in deep-dish pizza bites.

It's nice to hear that you've found something that works for you. I felt very similarly when I started hardcore a couple of months ago, which is why I started doing nothing but that. I noticed, just like you, that there were more people playing the objective, and using teamwork to try and reach the common goal that we all have: winning the round. Although I just say, I didn't quite notice it as much as you did; I stick to hardcore because overall it made more sense -- bullets would do reasonable amounts of damage, no regenerative health meant that campers had to be cautious with their decisions, and people wouldn't automatically know where you are thanks to the lovely damn kill cam that reveals your position each time you eliminate someone.

 

 

Unfortunately due to my absence, I will likely come back and do horrible in-game, but in the end, it's all about having fun but accomplishing something in life at the same time.
