LSPD-Official 31
It has been some time since our last news update, and much has transpired in the interim. Unfortunately, the combined effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and the substantial increase in cheating within GTA Online have presented significant challenges. Many officers of the Los Santos Police Department have transitioned to other consoles or games, seeking relief from the persistent frustrations caused by the rampant cheating epidemic. Consequently, our online presence has diminished as we contend with these issues. Additionally, some members have chosen to leave our organization entirely to engage in cheating themselves, in an effort to "level the playing field" by countering cheaters with their own cheats. While we understand their decisions, given the turbulent state of the current version of GTA Online, as a professional gaming organization, we cannot condone or participate in cheating or other such activities. In response to our reduced staffing levels, we are directing the majority of our focus toward the next iteration of GTA Online, set in the streets of Leonida. The Los Santos Police Department will continue to operate on PC, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 for the foreseeable future. As of September 10, 2024, the Los Santos Police Department is no longer active on XBOX Series X/S or XBOX One due to insufficient staffing and member population. As of December 16, 2021, the Los Santos Police Department ceased operations on PlayStation 3 and XBOX 360 following the shutdown of GTA Online services on both platforms, as announced by Rockstar Games. We encourage our remaining personnel to enjoy the Los Santos environment to the fullest possible extent, as best they can, reminiscent of our approach during the final days of Liberty City in Grand Theft Auto IV before it was removed permanently from the PC version of the game in March of 2020. To streamline our systems, we have purged our Los Santos Police Department news archives, removing outdated articles from the past decade. These old articles have become cluttered and difficult to read due to multiple conversion processes over the years. Unfortunately given our limited resources, updating these articles to improve their legibility is not a worthwhile use of our time. As such, they have been archived to maintain a tidy site. We invite those interested in helping to serve the public in the streets of Leonida in the next iteration of GTA Online to explore the successor to the LSPD, the Leonida Regional Police Service. We look forward to seeing those interested, and stay tuned as we'll be opening applications soon!
