Security Advisory Update - April 25, 2017

The Los Santos Police Department is pleased to report that several cheat and exploitation tools have been successfully shut down at the request of Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games. Additionally, anonymous sources have informed us that some of the fraudulent activities previously highlighted in our security advisory have been addressed and patched in GTA Online.

While we remain cautiously optimistic, our personnel are understandably skeptical about the long-term effectiveness of these actions and how sustainable these fixes will be. Nonetheless, we are encouraged to see proactive measures being taken to combat the malicious cheaters who have undermined the integrity of the game for so many players.

It is important to note that while these efforts represent a positive step forward, they are unlikely to eliminate cheating altogether. Therefore, we continue to urge players across all platforms to remain vigilant and exercise caution when engaging in online sessions.

For those who have fallen victim to a malicious cheater, we strongly recommend reaching out to Rockstar Support for further assistance and resolution.
